- What is it?
Also, known as ‘Collagen Induction Therapy’, Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment to rejuvenate the skin. After the treated area is topically numbed, a handheld device glides over the skin and repeatedly punctures the surface using 11 tiny needles.
This process creates minute trauma which triggers a wound-healing response and it is this that stimulates the production of natural collagen and elastin which in-turn, leaves the skin refined, tighter and more even.
Depending on which area is being treated, this procedure can take between 45-60 minutes to complete with prices starting at £150.00
- Who’s, having it?
This procedure doesn’t use heat, it’s totally mechanical therefore it’s safe for all skin types and colours. It is a treatment to improve skin texture and firmness but is most beneficial for those wishing to rid crepey skin around the eyes, reduce acne scarring, pore size and also stretch marks.
- When should I have this?
We recommend a course of 4-6 treatments, depending on the condition we are treating, over 2-6 week intervals. Although this treatment does not have any downtime, the skin can appear red and almost ‘sunburnt’ so you may want to avoid Microneedling 1-3 days prior to an event.
- How long will results last?
Results are visible after just 1 single treatment but for optimum effectiveness, we’d recommend a course of treatments. Again, all dependent on the skin condition we’re treating, we’d suggest a maintenance top-up treatment every 3-12 months.
