So, it’s celebrated on the 8th March every year, but what exactly is International Women’s Day and why is everyone talking about it? More importantly, why are we, an Aesthetics Beauty Clinic, all for it?
Well, let us explain …
What is it?
International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is a focal point in the movement for women’s rights, the day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
International Women’s Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland. Prior to this the Socialist Party of America, United Kingdom’s Suffragists and Suffragettes, and further groups campaigned for women’s equality.
Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organisation specific, so anyone and everyone can support it.
Why are we supporting it?
We’re very much a part of the most female dominating industry there is to date and we LOVE it. Of course many of our clientele are male, however, HC MedSpa is managed and supported by strong, dedicated, hard-working women and that’s simply why we’re supporting IWD!
