How to get rid of cellulite?

Summer isn’t over and the warmer weather is making a come-back this bank holiday weekend! When the sun shines so do we and that calls for sporting a summer skirt or shorts!

So, what are the tips, tricks & treatments to get rid of cellulite? We’ve done the hard work for you …

What is it?

A condition which causes dimpling of the skin, cellulite is caused by the gradual build-up of fat beneath the tissue. The fat pushes through the connective tissue, creating a lumpy depression. Cellulite (also referred to as orange-peel skin, hail damage, cottage-cheese skin and the mattress phenomenon) is incredibly common, affecting 80-90% of women at some point during their lives.

What are the symptoms?

Signs of cellulite are relatively easy to recognise, it causes an uneven, lumpy, dimpled appearance. Cellulite usually occurs in a localised area of the body, such as on the stomach, thighs, hips, and buttocks.

How to rid or reduce the appearance of cellulite?

Massaging the area is a great way to reduce the appearance of cellulite, it’ll breakdown any blockages in the lymphs and promote natural drainage through the body’s system. You need to repeat the process consistently to achieve and maintain your desired results.

Exercise is easily the most effective ‘DIY’ treatment. Exercise also reduces the body’s subcutaneous fatty tissue. Toxins get stored in the fatty tissue of the body. Therefore, when fatty tissue is reduced as a result of aerobic exercise, the toxins are released and can be eliminated through the cleansing organs.

Cellulite Reduction is a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that uses a combination of radio-frequency and ultrasound technology to ultimately improve the tone and appearance of the skin.

Radiofrequency uses heat to transform collagen fibres. As the RF current passes through the dermis, these fibres begin to contract and thicken. This process aids in the skin’s own ability to produce collagen and elastin which ultimately boosts the skin, giving it a ‘plumped’ and firm appearance.

Ultrasound uses cold and hot ultrasonic waves that vibrate and destroy fat cells, while leaving surrounding tissue unharmed. The selective sound waves disrupt fat cell membranes leading to the gradual breakdown and release of stored fat through the lymphatic system and to help improve the appearance of cellulite.

Both RF and ultrasound work in synergy to improve over-all skin quality making it tighter and firmer so it’s also a great way of contouring and sculpting body areas. Using the same technique, it shall tone and tighten specific problem areas. It’s the ideal treatment for those not wanting to undergo cosmetic surgery for the risk factor but wish to rid loose stomach skin or tone the thighs.
